W. 31. Productive Trees

Good people are compared to trees which produce fruits , leaves, fresh air to breathe , pleasant scenary etc. Tehillim 92
The Talmud asks why does use comparisons to two types of trees ?
Bava Basra 80b explains that there are many forms of growth & greatness.
A tree reminds us to grow - steadily , patiently , quietly , for long -term success in serving Hashem.
Don't be like grass. Short lived ,without deep roots , no shade , no fruit , fleeting ...
Develop into a cedar tree & a date palm. Learn from Avraham Avinu , Breishis 21:33 , to plant trees & cultivate them.

Tree Wonders - 30

Who was the great Sage who gave discourses about all of Hashems trees?

Shlomo hamelech the wisest of all , as we are taught in Melochim 1:5:13.

How many trees do you pass by every day ? And how often do you thank & praise Hashem for them ?
Every tree you pass is an opportunity for growth as we think about Hashem who created it & keeps it growing.
One example -
The Talmud ( Beitza 25b) teaches how certain plants whose roots grow straight down serve as a model of always avoid stealing & trespassing on the property of others.
We can say a similar idea - a tree stays in place no matter how much you will insult it or reprimand it. It keeps on doing what it does , to serve Hashem by doing its job , with steadfast , persistence , which we should learn.

Grass Lessons - W 20

Why are the wicked compared to grass , whereas the righteous are like trees (Tehillim 92 ) ?
Blades of grass & huge trees have the capacity to convert sunlight into fuel which produces food ,growth & life. The difference is that grass grows quickly & spreads all over. It is flimsy & can easily be destroyed.
Trees however need more care , the right environment & they develop into solid , long lasting majestic stuctures.
We can step on grass , but not on trees. This serves to remind us to build for long term , righteous growth , planted in the house of Hashem to truly enjoy our stay in this world as we prepare for eternity.

Balanced Listening -W. 19

Which part of the body has enough circuits to provide phone service for a city & is also the automatic pilot that keeps the body in balance to prevent it from toppling over ?
Why did Hashem link these two machines together in the headphones on our body called ears?
A balance scale in Loshon Hakodesh is called moznayim which contains the word Oznayim (ears ).

One lesson is that all of our listening needs to be balanced. Did they say a sharp right turn or bear right ?
Is it hot for drinking or for bathing ?
Put it downstairs. All the way down, or halfway ?

When we thank Hashem in the mornings for preparing the footsteps of a person , we need to include this aspect of the balance system in the ears which helps us maintain our balance while walking. Thank You Hashem.
