Taster's Choice
What if one is only tasting the food to see if it needs salt or other spices is a Bracha required ?
Some say no ,even if he does swallow it.
Others say yes if he swallows it.
Mishna Brura concludes the best approach - if he wants to swallow - to have in mind to also enjoy it as eating food & make a Brocha.

A drop of Food
Even if one eats or drinks a tiny amount of food or drink , a Blessing is required first. Unless he is only tasting it. See Shulchan Aruch 210.
