10 lessons for Dealing with a Recession

1. Thank Hashem that you are alive. You may not have some minor luxuries, but being alive is the greatest WEALTH.

2. Take care of your health by eating right, getting enough sleep, & exercising as necessary. Remember the Moshol of the rose on the table.

3. Diversify your investments.

4. Remember the 4 steps:

a) Learn from others

b) Enjoy discipline

c) Rejoice with your assets

c) Honor all people

5. Save more, spend less - Avoid buying things you can't afford & don't need anyhow.

6. Practice laughing more - it can be a thrill to plan your future all over again. Consider - What would I really enjoy doing?

7. To think & look ahead is the key to Wisdom. It is also the key to avoid buying on credit. The Torah teaches this through the event of Yosef preparing ahead in the years of plenty for the years of little.

9. Small steps make a huge difference.

10. The first step to finding a good job is to greet everyone you meet.
