Pesach in Fours
Four cups of wine
4 types of children
4 questions
4 expressions of Redemption
Why ?
They correspond to
4 who are obligated to THANK.
- one who is released from prison
- one who is healed
-saved from an ocean
- saved from a dessert
All 4 of these are relevant to Pesach thus we use the code of 4 to thank Hashem again & again. Baruch Hashem

Weekly Mitzvah - 31: Rights and Obligations of an Employee
31: Rights and Obligations of an Employee
"When you go [to work] in the vineyard of your friend, you may eat grapes as you desire, to your fill." (Devarim 23:25)
The Torah gives us guidelines as to when and how to allow workers to snack from the produce thay are processing. The workers, however, are cautioned not to overeat, thus taking unfair advantage of their employer. They may refrain from eating until they get to that which they desire more (Rambam, Hilchos Sechirus 12:11)
The worker may not take food for his wife and children, only for himself (ibid.).
A worker may not work both during the day and at night, for then he will not be fully functioning for his employers. He may not starve himself, for then he will not be able to work energetically (ibid. 13:6).
A worker must be careful not to waste any of his employer's time. Similarly, he must work with all of his energy, as Yaakov Avinu said: "With all of my strength, I served" (Bereishis 31:6). This is why Yaakov became so fabulously wealthy (Rambam, Hilchos Sechirus 13:7).

Salt details
When they are joined together , they are transformed into - salt ! A white essential food. The technical mechanics are they share one electron in the outer orbits of the two original atoms.

Amazing secret of salt
Thus it serves as a symbol of two people waiting for each other thinking are we going to join together in a positive way to perform mitzvos & share Torah or not. We need to learn from Hashems salt to always bring some taam (good flavor ) to the table.
Now may be a good time for a gem of Torah study.
Salt Connection
Why ?
Because eating is considered as a Korban which needs salt.
Tosfos Brochos 40a. Explains that since people may be waiting for each other at the table without Mitzvos we need salt protection. ???

Fw: Weekly Mitzvah - 30: Safety and Prevention

Subject: Weekly Mitzvah - 30: Safety and Prevention
Mitzvos Relating to Our Fellow Man
30: Safety and Prevention
Build a fence for your roof... (Devarim 22:8)
It is a mitzvah to put up a sturdy guardrail at least ten tefachim high
(about forty inches) wherever there is a danger of someone falling. One
also may not keep a dangerous animal in his home (Kesubos 41a).
Checking on safety measures regularly is an ongoing fulfillment of this
mitzvah (Sefer HaMitzvos HaKatzar, aseih 75).
The Sefer HaChinuch explains that although everything is in Hashem's
hands, we are obligated by the Torah to live in a healthy and safe way.
One may not act recklessly and risk danger.
The Rambam calls this section of halachah "The Laws of Murder and Guarding
Oneself" because a lack of safety is a form of carelessness which can lead
to murder, chas veshalom. Just as one is forbidden to murder others, one
may not allow dangers that can lead to people suffering. (See our book
Treat Yourself Right [Targum / Feldheim, 2001] on this topic.)

Hagada preparation
Why do we include a study of 4 types of people at the beginning of the story ?
We have a mitzva to tell the story to all in a way that will make a most powerful impression. Thus we need to prepare with thoughts of who will be at my seder so that I know what approach to focus on in our words.

Say. I know how you feel. Moshe felt the same way when hashem told him to erect the mishkon. See rashi on verse.
Hashem said go through the motions and I will make it happen for you.

Answer depends on Thought
Thus the intention is to keep shabat & serve Hashem.
But one who desecrates the shabos because he dosent care to honor Hashems day is disrespectful thus his intention is in reverse.
