Weekly Mitzvos 18

There are 18 official Mitzvos in Parshas Tzav.
The first is the daily Mitzva for a kohen to remove some ashes from the Mizbeach. Terumas Hadeshen.

Two reasons are cited -
- Clean up
- To glorify the Beis Hamigdosh & to humble ourselves

This is explained as a symbol to be careful to keep gaavo (pride ) & taavo ( temptation) away from our service to Hashem.
