Sing the Shabos song - step 28

You know the one from Tehillim.
- It is great to sing to Hashem ...

- in the morning & at night

- with every form of expression

- all Your actions cause me happiness , all Your handiwork !

You can focus now on being happy by feeling healthier , more prosperous & smiling more. Hashem will assist you & help you have a great day !
You can shift your thoughts & elevate them.
One of the good benefits of thanking Hashem is that He will make it even better.

Step 27 - up to you

Is it up to me or is Hashem running the world ??

Both. Everything is in the hands of Heaven besides the fear of Hashem which is up to us. Brochos 33b. Thus you get to control your circumstances to a certain extent by your ongoing thoughts.

Mishlei 4:23 - from your mind/heart come all the results of life.
Thus our mind is our most precious possession !
Your thoughts are the primary cause of everything that happens to you.
By choosing positive Mitzva thoughts you can trigger a chain reactions of benefits all over.

Step 26 - key to Wealth

The definition of true wealth is someone who is always happy ( Gra ), as the Mishna says one who rejoices with his portion is rich. Avos 4:1.
This fits with the principle - on the path one desires Hashem will lead him. By rejoicing with your portion you demonstrate your desire to be happy by starting with what you have , thus Hashem will give you more.
Thus the verse says
A person with a good heart is always happy as one who is having a party. Mishlei 15:15.
When you focus on the good Hashem is providing you with right now , He will continue to provide you with ongoing parties.
When you think good thoughts , you help bring them about.

Step 25 - Run to ...

The acid test is where do you run to or from ?

Avos 4:2 - run to every Mitzva
Run away from every sin

Why ?
Rabeinu Yona explains each mitzva brings you closer to Hashem & it also trains you to make it easier to do more mitzvos.
In addition Hashem will also assist you to perform more mitzvos.

On the path one is determined to go. .. The word rotzeh - to desire
& rotz - to run are of the same rootword. When you run you develop your desire.

Step 24 - a conflict

When do we say
Hashem leads a person on the path he chooses &
When do we say
Hashem always does what is best ??

We can answer with an illustration let's say there is a person who stuffs himself with food.
It is a harmful process which is also sinful.
Hashem could stop him in his tracks or allow him to continue. Hashem may decide to let him suffer the consequences of his actions in order to teach him to wake up & come to his sense & realize the purpose of life.

Step 23 - Dual Desires

What if a person wants " A " & " B" which of the two will Hashem give him ?
We can say that Hashem will see which of the two he desires most !
If you think about it more that counts. But if you do something about it that counts even more.
On the path one is determined to go means that you get on the road ,you take action.

Step -22 - Time Delay

Why is it that at times there seems to a time delay between our choices & the assistance we receive from Hashem ?
We need to be thankful to Hashem when we notice a time delay because it is always for our benefit. All that Hashem does is for good.
It gives us time to reevaluate , to think about what we really want for sure. Consider can you elevate your desires & think even better thoughts. ?
If I am not for myself who will be ? Avos 1:14.
Think - does Hashem want me to settle for less greatness if I have the potential to achieve more ?

Step 21 - 6 words

Would you like to learn 6 words which you can use with every person you interact with every day ? These words will transform you into a Baal Chesed & help you enjoy life ?
The words are -
Ask yourself : How can I help this person ?
When you honor others , Hashem will cause them to honor you.

Step 20 - get along Better

How can we get along better with so & so ( you know who ) ?

You need to focus on the good of that person. Look for the good they have done & keep on doing. There is something that is magnificent about them ! Find it , acknowledge it & train yourself to appreciate it.
You can turn a relationship around - it takes about 10 days of focussing on what you appreciate about that person.
All this is included in the Mishna who is honorable ? One who honors others ! Avos 4:1.
Who is in charge ? Hashem put you in power of honoring & respecting others & He will cause them to respond.

Step 19 -thank Hashem

We have so much to thank Hashem for. But don't forget to include this - to express our gratitude for the life - sustaining principle taught in Makos 10b :
How to get what you want.
On the path one is determined to go Hashem will lead him.
No excuses. No ifs , ands or buts. Baruch Hashem

Step 18 - going Back

One of the most important steps is to go back as soon as possible.
If the spirit of the powers will rise up against you , don't leave your place - Koheles 10: 4.
Rav Miller ztl explained that the Yetzer hora tries to knock us down in many ways. He can get us to do foolish things & then convince us to run far away which only makes things worse.
Rather , we have to pick up the pieces & go back & Hashem will help us do teshuva. It is embarassing , it hurts & it is difficult but in the long run it is the best approach. Stay on the path , stay determined that you will hold on no matter what & Hashem will make it work in incredible ways.

Step 17 - self discipline

To get on the path we need to get up and go.
We have the power to conquer our inclination & overcome our challenges as we learn in Avos 4:1. But don't wait. Start now to achieve the next step of greatness which is in you.
Hashem will help you when you take a small step forward.
